The Togaedere Collective are holding an exhibition exploring the complex theme of identity & representation. Works by 13 photographers and digital artists.
In a world where we are labelled, defined and categorised by others, what does identity actually mean? Are we able to introspectively assess who we are in an unbiased manner? Do we represent all that we are through our appearance and conduct? And do we meet expectations of society, loved ones and ourselves?
The Collective have addressed these questions through research and concept development, with an emphasis on what identity means to us as artists, photographers, students and individuals.
Using a variety of photographic approaches, practices and technology, each of the Collective will present a series of images, which decipher the complexity of identity and representation in our ever-evolving lives.
WORK WILL BE ON DISPLAY AT DALE STREET, NORTHERN QUARTER, MCR, 12-13th FEB.
