You’re never too old to go hurtling down a slope in a rubber ring. That’s what I told myself when I booked myself and my wife in for snow tubing at the Chill Factore in Manchester as part of her birthday treat anyway. I’m glad I didn’t listen to the nagging part of me that said ‘snow fun is for kids’. It was awesome.
Not awesome in a ‘that’s the best thing I’ve ever done’ kind of way, but awesome in that for 45 minutes you get to be a big kid. How rarely that happens in todays rat race of a world.
It’s £18 per adult or £62 for a family of four at peak times which isn’t cheap, but they frequently have offers on and who can put a price on staying young at heart?
I could describe what snow tubing is in detail, but instead you may as well watch the video:
A couple of caveats – if you’re an avid skiier or an adrenellin junky don’t expect a tremendous rush out of this – it’s about having fun and being a big kid rather than living on the edge. Also as fun as it is, I’d had enough after about half an hour so it isn’t the cheapest 30 minutes. I’d be interested to hear in the comments other fun ways to be a big kid up north so let me know your ideas….. I can feel a top 5 coming on so do let us know your thoughts!
